Yes — time tracking is completely free with no limits. You can use the built-in timer, add manual time entries, and convert tracked time into invoices, all on the Free plan.

Yes! Select time entries for a client, click a button, and Keepr generates a detailed invoice with all your tracked hours. It's one of the most popular features.

Projects group your work by client — you can set hourly rates and budgets. Tasks are individual items within a project that you can create, assign, and track to completion.

Connect your Stripe account in Settings, under Payment processors, and your invoices will include a "Pay with Card" button. When a client pays, the payment is recorded automatically and the invoice is marked as paid. Card payments work on any invoice amount.

Stripe charges a base fee of 1.5% + 20p per transaction. On the Free plan, Keepr adds a 1% processing fee (2.5% + 20p all-in). Pro users pay no Keepr fee on top — just Stripe's standard 1.5% + 20p.

Yes — Pro users can set any recurring invoice to auto-collect via Stripe. Your client saves their card on the first cycle, then every subsequent cycle is charged automatically and they get a receipt. No more chasing payments. You can remove a saved card from your client's side at any time too.

Yes — fully free. Add trips with from, to, miles, and vehicle type; Keepr applies the correct HMRC rate automatically (55p for the first 10,000 car/van miles per tax year from 6 April 2026, 25p after; 24p flat for motorcycles; 20p flat for bicycles). For trips before 6 April 2026 the first-tier rate was 45p. The total mileage deduction flows automatically into your Self Assessment or Corporation Tax estimate.

Yes. The rate per mile for cars and vans drops from 55p to 25p once you've logged 10,000 miles in a UK tax year (45p to 25p for trips before 6 April 2026). Keepr tracks the cumulative total and applies the right rate — including splitting a single trip across both tiers if it crosses the threshold mid-journey.

Yes — quote creation is free for everyone. Build a quote with line items, send it to your client (they get a public link to accept/decline), and track its status. On the Free plan you manually convert an accepted quote to an invoice with one click. On Pro, that conversion is automatic the moment the client accepts.

You set a "valid until" date when creating the quote. Quotes past that date auto-expire so you don't accidentally honour an old price.

Pro users set up a template once: amount, schedule, client. Keepr generates and sends each cycle's invoice automatically. You can also set it to auto-collect — your client saves their card on the first cycle and every cycle thereafter is charged in the background. They receive a receipt by email each time.

Every receipt email includes a "Manage saved payments" link. Clicking it takes the client to a self-service page where they can remove any saved card. Removing it cancels their auto-collect on linked recurring schedules — they can pay manually or set up payment again later.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is HMRC's requirement to keep tax records digitally and send quarterly updates instead of one big yearly tax return. It's mandatory from April 2026 if your self-employment income is over £50,000, April 2027 over £30,000, and April 2028 over £20,000. Yes — Keepr's MTD features are completely free, with no usage limits or time limits. That includes connecting to HMRC, quarterly updates, and your final declaration. We commit to keeping it free for a full annual accounting period for any user on the Free plan. Read the full MTD guide.

Once you're signed up, go to the Tax page in the sidebar and click "Connect HMRC Account". You'll be sent to HMRC's website to log in and authorise Keepr (this is HMRC's standard process and it's safe). After that, Keepr will show your quarterly obligations and you can submit them with one click.

Quarterly submissions are cumulative, which means each one replaces the last. If you forgot something in an earlier quarter, just add it to Keepr and the next submission will include it — HMRC sees the new figure and updates their records. No phone calls needed.

Yes. Your data is encrypted and stored securely. We take data protection seriously and comply with UK GDPR requirements.

Yes — just contact us if you'd like your account fully removed. We'll delete your data in line with our Privacy Policy.
